With quality and reliability being its main target “Agro Fresh Group” begins its checks at the fields where it examines the pedology state of them and the development of the plants to verify if the presence of diseases is probable and therefore the existence of complications to be diminished.

Just before the crop, a specimen from the products is sent to a lab of chemical and microbiological analysis for its macroscopic check so it can be defined if it fulfills the desired quality demands but also for any external bodies. This step is the “control point” which is of great importance for the company’s effectiveness due to the fact that a problematic or low in quality product could trigger various issues not only because of the increased cost of sorting/processing but also the waste management.

Continuing on, if the products are not packed immediately they are taken to the pre-freezing and freezing chambers of the company.

In that stage there is a recording of all the freezing parameters that regards the temperature and the relevant humidity of every product batch.

After that procedure the products are moved for sorting and packing. The reason for that step of the production is the assurance of the quality requirements that have been set by our clients and to identify the problematic products and materials. In parallel, through packing we achieve the best presentation of the final products. The packing materials that are used follow the E.U. regulatory applications, avoiding in that way serious threats like the transfer of harmful substances onto the products.

Traceability is the process that gives us the chance to specify all the production elements that synthesize the final products and it includes forward tracing (clients), backward tracing (suppliers) and inward tracing (the company). Ultimately it is not a distinct procedure but, as a process, it is applied since the first state of the delivery.

The quality check is conducted mainly in the sorting and packing stage. Although, the perishable products that are to be stored packed for more than a day are getting under quality and quantity checks before their release.Finally, since the products have gone through all the inspection stages, they are loaded either in privately owned reefers or into our external partners trucks and they are sent to the clients. The product deliveries are monitored, meaning that per product batch there is a recording of the delivery automobile and the transfer conditions with automatic temperature records that have been installed on them.
